Supplements Short UGC Video — Tutorial

This tutorial walks you through creating a short UGC-style product video ad inside AutoReach. The finished ad features an AI actor delivering a testimonial, two B-roll clips, background music, and animated captions. This format works great as a bottom-of-the-funnel conversion ad because it feels authentic and personal.

Step 1: Start a New Session

Create a clean workspace for your new ad project.

Step 2: Select the UGC Product Video Preset

Load the preset that sets up everything you need for a UGC-style ad.

Step 3: Upload Your Product Image

Add the product image that will appear in the video.

  • Upload an image of your product.

Step 4: Choose an Actor

Pick an AI actor that matches your target audience.

  • Browse the available actors.
  • Select one that fits your product and audience. In this example, we chose "David," a middle-aged male, for a hair growth supplement.

Step 5: Write the Actor's Script

Enter the testimonial script the actor will speak on camera.

  • Type your script into the text field. Keep it natural and conversational.
  • Example script: "After my fiftieth birthday, I struggled with hair loss until I found [Product Name]. Not only it got me my hair back, but also gave me back my confidence. I can't recommend it enough."

Step 6: Set Video Length and Quality

Configure the output settings before generating.

  • Set the video length (twelve seconds works well for short testimonials).
  • Choose your resolution: 720p for faster generation, or 1080p for higher quality.
  • Click Generate.

Step 7: Review the Base Video

Watch the generated video to make sure the actor, voice, and delivery look good before moving on.

  • Play back the generated UGC video.
  • If the result is not satisfactory, regenerate with adjusted settings or a different actor.

Step 8: Extract a Frame for B-Roll Reference

Pull a still frame from the video to use as a starting point for B-roll content.

  • Scrub through the video timeline.
  • Find a frame with no motion blur (the first frame often works well).
  • Click Extract Frame.

Step 9: Generate a Confident Portrait with NanoBanana Pro

Create a new image of the actor in a different setting for your second B-roll.

  • Go to Models and select NanoBanana Pro.
  • Select the extracted frame as your reference image.
  • Describe the image you want. Example: "Man in a suit, standing in a hallway, taking a selfie in a mirror, looking confident."
  • Set quality to 2K for faster generation.
  • Click Generate.

Step 10: Edit the Generated Image

Refine the NanoBanana Pro image if the background or details need improvement.

  • Go to NanoBanana Pro again and select the generated image.
  • Describe the changes you want. Example: "Change the interior to be more luxury, clean and white."
  • Click Generate to apply the edit.

Step 11: Generate the First B-Roll (Product Interaction)

Create a short video clip of the actor interacting with the product.

  • Use the extracted frame (from Step 8) showing the actor holding the product as the starting image.
  • Describe the action: "He is taking a pill from the container. No talking, no fast movement, smooth B-roll footage."
  • Set audio to none.
  • Set length to five seconds.
  • Click Generate.

Step 12: Generate the Second B-Roll (Confident Pose)

Create a subtle motion clip from the edited portrait image.

  • Use the edited portrait image (from Step 10) as the starting image.
  • Describe the motion: "Recreate a live photo effect. No actions, just subtle natural motion like a live photo."
  • Click Generate.

Step 13: Find Background Music

Add a music track that fits the mood of your ad.

  • Go to Stock Music.
  • Search for a style that matches your ad (for example, funky or uplifting).
  • Preview tracks and click Add to Project when you find one you like.

Step 14: Assemble Everything in the Editor

Combine all your assets into a finished video.

  • Click Export to Editor to bring all assets into the timeline.
  • Drag the UGC product video onto the base layer.
  • Place the first B-roll (product interaction) over the section where the product is mentioned.
  • Place the second B-roll (confident pose) over the section about confidence or results.
  • Add the background music track underneath.
  • Preview the timeline to check that transitions and timing feel natural.

Step 15: Add Captions

Generate animated subtitles for the spoken testimonial.

  • Go to Audio and click Caption Video.
  • Wait a few seconds for the captions to generate.
  • Adjust page duration to 1 and maximum lines to 1 for a one-word-at-a-time effect.
  • Change the font to your preferred style.

Step 16: Render and Export

Generate the final video file.

  • Click Render.
  • Wait for the render to complete.
  • Preview the final video to confirm everything looks and sounds correct.

Final Result

The finished ad is a short, authentic-feeling UGC testimonial video. It features an AI actor delivering a personal story about the product, two B-roll clips (one showing product interaction, one showing the confident result), animated one-word captions, and uplifting background music. This format is ideal for bottom-of-the-funnel ads on social platforms. You can publish it directly or download and upload to your ad platform of choice.
